Well, It's been a while since I posted. I guess I've just been too busy enjoying the summer! It seems to have flown by , but we have had lots of fun with our friends and family. Here's some highlights in photos.
Connor (my youngest) and I have made a few projects in the last month. First, we made this little twig vase out of a pickle jar, some twine and twigs and brown felt I glued the felt onto the glass jar. He had fun collecting the twigs from under the pine trees and sorting them by size. I worked the hot glue gun, while he weaved the twine and chose the perfect next twig. It was a fast project and it turned out nce. He wants to make them for Christmas presents. And it looks great with a bunch of dried lavender!
Second, we made our first terrarium (after a visit to the Corning Glass Museum, where I got this bell cloche)! He placed the pebbles first, then activated charcoal and finely the soil. We planted three plants and made a path out of some pebbles. We dug up some nice moss from our beautiful lawn ;-) and it seems to have worked out well for a first attempt. He is already planning our next one- based on our upcoming trip to the Outer Banks, with sand dunes, grass and shells.
