Hello world! I feel like it's the first day of school and I have a fresh start. Honestly, I'm not very knowledgeable about the blogging world, so this is an adventure for me. I've been looking at several blogs recently and thought, "Hey, I could do that". Most of my creative endeavors started with those words, so I figured, why not! I have always been the type of person who would see something in a store and decide that I could make it just as well myself. My photography came about because I wasn't happy with the photographs of my little children from that place in the mall. I decided I could do better and so my new passion arose. Anyway, I'm hoping to add a little insight into what makes me tick and share myself in this way.
Talking about new beginnings, my most recent photographs were of my niece, Jessica, who graduated cum laude from Bloomsburg University this past week. She is continuing her studies at Towson in Psychology and I'm very proud of her. She was born about a month before I graduated from Bloomsburg University- so it's kind of making me feel a little old, but it was a pleasure taking her photographs as she ends a stage of her life and begins a new one. Capturing a transition time in someone's life is a great joy. Those times are thought of frequently throughout life and I feel honored to be part of it. I was thinking of that after her party when I witnessed her emotional goodbyes with her friends who had shared the last four years of her life. I reflected on my "sisters" in Tri Sig and how close we had become in such a short time, how important they were in those early adult years- and how I felt on my graduation day. (I sent them a FB message that night to tell them). So I'm happy that I was able to capture those memories for her.
